America is FAT + How I’m Losing Weight This Summer

Alright America, enough is enough.
Let’s get real. We’re fat. There I said it. AMERICANS. ARE. FAT.
You’d have to be seriously living under a rock not to notice. I mean, there’s a show on TV called “My 600 LB Life,” give me a break. You know it, I know it, we all know it. America’s weight problem is completely out of control, and somebody needs to do something about it.
Before we get down to the nitty gritty, let me just clarify, that by the end of this post, you’re going to be stoked because THERE IS A SOLUTION. And it’s a darn good one. I know because it’s how I’m losing weight this summer.
Four million people are hospitalized every year due to heart disease, it’s the number one cause of preventable death in the USA, and costs our health care system an estimated $432 billion per year. – For A Healthier America
Medical costs for people who are obese is on average $1,429 higher than those of normal weight. – CDC
Got it? It’s a real big deal. Like, a $432 billion big deal.
I know, I know, it’s hard. There are tons of excuses: I don’t have time to work out, kale tastes like poop, and who wants to do one of those microwavable packaged frozen food diets you see advertised on the tele? YUCK.
It’s literally impossible!

I mean, how could you forget? Isn’t she totally BABEALICIOUS?!
Lauryn is creator of the popular lifestyle blog The Skinny Confidential, and she’s giving us everything we need to lose weight and be healthy…. the important part —> without making us want to kill ourselves. But how you ask??
The BBG is a 28 week workout plan, complete with weekly schedules, workout routines, pictures so you know what the heck you’re doing, plus a ton of extra tools to help you along the way + track your progress.
The plan has 3 workouts per week. Each workout takes approx 27 minutes. You can either do the full 28 weeks, or Phase 1 (weeks 1-14), phase 2 (weeks 15-28), or you can just use the targeted workouts and make your own schedule.
What do I eat/drink?
Whatever you want (within reason), I love a cheeseburger as much as the next girl, which is great because so does Lauryn! She encourages you to have cheat meals, but make healthy choices most often. There are tons of yummy recipes with easy to follow instructions and pretty pictures. Oh, and they are totally man-approved, Nico LOVES the food from this program. Most importantly, you don’t have to completely cut out the alcohol! Lauryn offers tons of yummy cocktail recipes, Skinny Confidential approved!
The great thing about this plan is it was designed for the girl on the go. All you need is a pair of hand weights. Either 2, 3, or 5 pounds depending on your fitness level and you’re good to go. I do my workouts around the house, outside, literally anywhere! It’s so convenient.
What are the workouts like?
Intense, but doable. I already mentioned that each workout is only 27 minutes. Lauryn included various moves from her fitness background. Expect to feel like you just got all the best moves from a pilates, yoga, and barre class + some traditional workouts like squats and burpies 🙂 Each day is a different routine, through out the week you will have worked every little nook and cranny in your body.
I’m excited to make my health and weight a priority. Just from doing these workouts the last two weeks I’m already seeing MAJOR results. I am tightening up in places I didn’t even know I had 😉 It’s amazing!
I’ll definitely keep you guys posted on my progress. I hope to be able to lose a few pounds in the next month or so! Fingers crossed!
