Being Sick Is The Worst! 10 made in USA Items that get me through it.
August 1, 2014
The last few days I’ve been sick with the common cold 🙁 YUCK.
I absolutely hate being sick. It’s the worst. I’m anemic so when I get sick I literally just sleep for 72 hours straight. I get super exhausted. It definitely messes with my work schedule which is so annoying.
Luckily Nico takes good care of me. I send him to the store practically ever hour for something new. (Thanks babe!)
Since I’m totally bedridden, I figured I’d share 10 of my favorite made in USA items I can’t live without when I’m sick.
When I’m sick, I make the most of it. I can’t usually walk around during the day with coconut oil in my hair. So if I have to lounge around sick I’m at least going to give my hair a little nourishing treatment.
BTW: This is one of the only coconut oils from the USA. Most are from less regulated, smaller, island nations where workers are taken advantage of and treated poorly. Coconut Willie Coconut oil is from Hawaii!
My friend, and soon to be sister in law (YAY!!!!) Lauryn mentioned I should start taking more amino acids and essential minerals to help fight and prevent sickness. I put a spoonful of this made in USA Flaxseed in a healthy smoothie with blueberries, spinach, banana, and almond milk. YUM. Thanks for the recommendation Lauryn!
Not only is this drink made in USA, it’s made in San Diego (my hometown). I love supporting businesses from my hometown. I’ve met the owner Annie a few times, she’s literally the sweetest! This Suja Essentials Sweet Beets is packed with vitamin C to kick my sickness’ butt! Plus its absolutely delicious!
When your sick and feeling gross, you need yummy smells around you. For me, it’s therapeutic. These candles are poured in LA. I originally found this candle on NastyGal, but now I just order them straight from the Sisters of Los Angeles website.
