I feel like I have so much to fill you guys in on. I’ve been all over the place. Traveling, working, Halloween, and a black tie event. Florida, NYC, it’s crazy! Literally so much going on, but also so fun! Just an FYI, since I’ve had a lot going on lately, expect a pretty random post below with tons of pics, some information about my family, and of course lots of tips and cute made in USA outfits.
Here we go!
So first off, can we just talk about how big of a pain in the A it is to pack for a long trip?? They just don’t make suitcases big enough! I’ve had some serious issues trying to get all of my stuff together and able to fit in a single suitcase.
I realize now that the best travel tip I can give, is stay organized. Traveling is chaotic enough, so I strive to find travel kits for everything, and put them all in one larger travel bag. Here are my absolute favorite mini travel essentials, made in USA of course:
Brows are everything. Well, or poorly shaped brows can change your face big time. I think the biggest mistake girls are making these days when it comes to brows is that they are waayyy over plucking. Thick, bushy brows are in.
I love Anastasia’s brow products. This travel kit is perfect, but I use it all the time. I typically leave it in my car or purse just in case I need a touch up through out the day. This kit includes five brow stencils (to accommodate different bone structurea and hair growth), tweezers, blendable brow powder for the most natural brow color, an angled duo brush for clean application and brow gel to maintain the shape all day. Plus the pouch is super cute and will help you stay organized.
This pouch comes with everything you need to deal with a fashion emergency including a mending kit, earring backs, double-sided tape, hair spray, a stain-remover towelette and much more. It’s only 18 bucks!
I don’t use a lot of product in my hair. I just wash, dry, and I’m off. This kit has everything I need, plus comes in it’s own case so I can keep my suitcase organized. The shampoo, condition, and dry shampoo are all paraben and sulfate free. Dry shampoo is a huge time saver. You can rinse your body off and spray some dry shampoo in your hair, enabling you to skip the blow dry! The mini wet brush is a cute yellow color, and you won’t have to bring your huge brush.
If you haven’t tried Clarisonic before, you are seriously missing out. CLARISONIC removes six times more makeup than manual cleansing so that products absorb better—making skin more receptive to skincare ingredients. The brush gently vibrates and twists to give your pores a deep, nonabrasive, refreshing, deep clean. I always feel so gross when I travel, so a deep clean at least every two or three days is a necessity.
PS ladies, if you’re packing for you and your man (what would they do without us?!?!) this mens skin care travel kit by Shiseido is perfect. So easy, all the essentials, and your man will still smell like a man, I promise! No girly scents – ew.
I am able to fit all of my travel kits inside of this bag, plus a few loose items if needed. That way, all of my toiletries are in one place, but separated so I don’t have to sift through a bunch of stuff to find exactly what I need. It comes in silver, black, and a few other colors.
FYI here is some background info: My Dad started a made in USA company in the aviation industry called JetBed, they manufacture beds for airplanes 100% in the United States. I help him out at trade shows and conventions by working the booth.
Side note: This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but the aviation industry supports American workers, big time.
According to the Aerospace Industries Association “Today, there is no sector of our economy that contributes more to U.S. net exports than commercial aviation manufacturing.” The commercial aviation industry supports more than one million American jobs directly, and over 2.5 million American jobs indirectly.
Plus, “The aerospace industry continues to be the United States’ leading exporter of manufactured goods. By value, our industry exported $72.1 billion more than we imported last year.” Cool right?!
I’m lucky I work well with my family, and in such a unique industry. It’s fun and I absolutely looove being around my Dad in a professional environment. He is such an inspiration as far as entrepreneurship goes, I try to learn from him every second I can. Here are some pics from the show:
I even made my first super speed Iphone movie to walk you guys through the convention center. Click here to watch: NBAA MOVIE
The second reason I was in Florida was for a party my Aunt was throwing. My whole family came out for the event. We spent Halloween together, attended my aunt’s black tie party, and just hung out and relaxed.
