Let me start by saying that my weekend was seriously amazing.
But there were moments when I was really missing my past.
If you’ve read my about page, you know that I have two horses. Well, the reason I have two horses is because I used to ride competitively. It was all I cared about until a few years ago, when I had to give it up for two main reasons:
1. Chrome (my horse) got hurt.
It’s pretty much impossible, for me at least, to work and ride competitively. It takes a lot of dedication that I just don’t have time for these days. I wish I did, but you really have to be in amazing shape and keep your horse in impeccable shape as well.
So why was I missing it so much? Because we watched a lot of competitive horseback riding this weekend.
We went to the Longines Masters Grand Slam Horse Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center. I couldn’t help but remember how it felt to compete. It’s thrilling. Plus, my Mom, Sister, and I used to travel to shows together. We got a lot of quality time in. I miss those weekends traveling, just us girls.
The event is one of a kind. Tons of amazing food, performances, art, shopping, and of course horseback riding. It was great seeing people I used to ride with. One of my friends, Sydney, won her class!
This weekend wasn’t all about horses. We actually drove up early Saturday morning to meet up with my brother and soon to be sister in law Lauryn (they are house hunting).
For the drive up and lunch I wore this unbelievably soft long sleeve top by Naked Undies, which comes in tons of colors. Its so comfortable, I bought a few more tops from Naked Undies to sleep in! LOL!
Still on my cleanse. So this was my lunch. Pretty boring. But I’m already feeling amazing!
On day two I wore this super comfortable shirt by Kokoon: the Second Base Top. I am loving this top. Not only is the fabric super soft, its very high quality. Major plus: you can machine wash this top. This is sooo clutch for me. I am taking way too many tops to the dry cleaner these days.
Took a little mid day break from the show to get some sushi at Sugarfish. So yummy!
As you can see from the pics, this horse show is one of a kind. I would definitely encourage anyone living in the Los Angeles area to attend next year. Find all the details HERE.
You can also watch some of the competition on their YouTube Channel if you’re interested.
As for me, it was great visiting the world I used to be a part of. It was fun to see everyone still competing and see how they’ve progressed. There were some seriously talented riders there this weekend.
I can’t wait to go next year. Maybe I’ll see some of you there!
