HA! Can’t start a post titled ‘Keeping it Country’ without a little hey ya’ll!
If you don’t know this about me, I’m a huge country music fan. Like, l die for honky tonk dancing, a tall glass of sweet tea (with a splash of American Born Moonshine), and the comfort of a worn in pair of cowboy boots.
Living in California, the country scene is well… pretty teeny tiny. Like, not happening at all kinda small. There’s a few country music bars, but for the most part I get my country music fix with Nico at home listening to our spotify playlists or watching Blake Shelton be freaking hilarious on The Voice.
That’s why I get sooo stoked for summer. There are seriously SO many country music festivals during summer, all across the country.
Nico and I try to make a point to get to as many shows as possible. We just went to Stagecoach a couple of weeks ago, and this week is HUGE for me because I scratched one of the top cities off my bucket list: NASHVILLE.
Nico was kind enough to bring me on his work trip to promote his new company, and we decided to stay a few extra days to check out the scene. If you follow me on Snapchat (@JordanBosstick), you’ve probably seen a lot of what we’ve been up to lately, but I saved a few things for this blog post.
Soooooo for today’s post, I’m not only going to update you on how I’ve been seriously keeping it freaking country the last couple weeks, I’m also going to give you some awesome made in USA brands to help you do the same.
Stagecoach is SO much fun! This year huge artists such as Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Eli Young Band, Jake Owen, and MORE performed!
We rented a house with a ton of friends, it was so much fun!
We spent the weekend BBQing, listening to country, and swimming in the pool. It was amazing.
Okay wait, stop. How awesome are these drink holders?? They came with the house we rented? I’m obsessed! I found them on Amazon too: HERE
Definitely going to stock up on these bad boys for summer. LOL!
[Flamingo Inflatable DRINK HOLDERS?! Get them HERE]
As far as Nashville goes, I am currently sitting in a coffee shop, listening to live music, and working. It’s amazing.
This city is so inspiring. I love the street style, and the cool musician vibe going on. We have been doing some serious exploring here. There is so much to do! You can’t walk outside, or inside for that matter, without hearing live music.
Sorry, but you’re going to have to wait for all the deets from my Nashville trip. I am coming back to Nashville mid June, so I am going to post a full travel guide for this city after that trip. But let me tell ya, there is soooo much to do here! It’s crazy! And if you can’t wait, follow me on Snapchat (@JordanBosstick) to see what I’m doing before it hits my blog.
Shucks, I can’t wait for this one.
I have to share this pic of Nico and I at the Grand Ole Opry. It’s been on my bucket list for a loooong time! I can’t believe we actually went, and we were front row!! EEK! 🙂 THANKS NICO!
Now here comes the good stuff. Get ready for country outfit overload.
Whether you’re going to a country bar, a country music festival, or you’re just good old fashion keepin’ it country with your friends, here is a list of a ton of made in USA country style outfits to inspire you. And don’t forget the rompers I posted above, they are SO country 🙂
Wait, STOP. This dress is freaking $14.99. Whoever said a made in USA label is more expensive was SO WRONG. I am dying over this dress. I would probably wear a white or tan slip underneath instead of black, but it is adorable!
You can never go wrong if you’re wearing a cute, girly, casual dress when you’re keepin’ it country!
This denim jacket is EVERYTHING. It would go great with any of the dresses above. You can never wear too much denim when you’re keepin’ it country. Seriously. I think there’s something about denim that just screams America! It’s unfortunate so many denim companies have moved overseas 🙁 ahem, LEVIS!
Flannels are the besssttt! You can throw them around your waste, so cute! Or wear them over a tank top with jeans. I love flannels because you can wear them all day. When it’s hot at a music festival or out with friends I use it as a blanket to sit on, or tie it around my waste. When it’s cold I use my flannel to keep me warm and cozy. Functional and fashionable :))
Did I mention the flannel below is only $29.00?? I mean, you’re welcome.
I’ve blogged about how to rock overalls in the past. One way you can be sure no one will think you’re weird for wearing overalls, is if you’re in a country setting. They are pretty much a staple. How cute are these overalls by Wildfox? I’m obsessed!
