If you’ve read my about page, you would know that I was a member of the sorority Kappa Alpha Theta in college. Around August/September I always get super nostalgic. This time of year reminds me of all the fun times I had in college and how much I miss my friends from ASU.
Summer break is over and everyone is either going back to school, or leaving home for the first time to start college. I’m a big girl now, which I love. However I do miss the fun and reckless times I had with my sorority sisters at ASU. College was such a fun time in my life. I met so many people, made unforgettable memories, and learned a lot about myself. I guess I’ll have to live vicariously through my little sister Tara, who is just starting as a freshman at the University of San Diego.
This year, I was in luck! Some of my sorority sisters from Arizona State came into town for a blogging workshop. They asked me to be a guest speaker! I was so excited! As much as being reckless together in college was a blast, working together is so much more gratifying. I was asked to share my journey so far as President of Volkalize.com and creator of Miss American Made. It was definitely an honor and so much fun!

The made in USA Cotton Tank Maxi Dress I’m wearing is by Stateside. It was comfortable and casual, perfect for chatting about the Internet with 20 aspiring bloggers. I threw on a faded vintage denim jacket and obviously tons of jewelry.
