What To Wear To A Winery
Comfortable Shoes
Comfortable shoes are a must for most wineries. But that doesn’t have to mean limiting yourself to a pair of sneakers. Instead, opt for shoes that you don’t mind walking a reasonable distance in. Also, consider the kinds of surfaces you might be walking on. You don’t want to show up in stilettos if you’re going to spend the afternoon on gravel.
If you can’t imagine not wearing heels, more power to you, babe. But we definitely recommend more accommodating footwear like flats, sandals, comfy sneakers, and/or boots.
Dresses
Dresses are perfect to wear to the winery any time of year. Midi dresses are a popular option. We’re also HUGE fans of classic LBDs like this little linen number from Emerson Fry. These dresses are great because they offer a balance of comfort and style, making them ideal for a day spent wine tasting. And, if you’re looking for something a little more versatile, a classic LBD is always a chic choice that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
The key to wearing a dress to the winery is wearing comfortable shoes with it. High heels might be your go-to shoe to wear with an LBD, but when wine glasses and a lot of walking are involved, comfort is the priority.
Skirts
OOH LA LA!! Skirts are a perf option to wear wine tasting. Not only are skirts an incredibly versatile option, but they’re also (for the most part) equally chic and comfortable. When it comes to what to wear with a skirt, the options are truly endless.
We weren’t kidding when we said: “endless.” You can opt for a mini, midi, or maxi skirt, and decide whether you want a more fitted silhouette or one that flows freely. Not to mention the countless colors and patterns to choose from! Although, admittedly, we’re total suckers for the classic black mini skirt.
Pants
Speaking of options… if you’re more in a “pants mood”… we got you. Sweatpants aren’t exactly the vibe at a winery, otherwise, you can pretty much wear whatever kind of pants you want. Denim, faux leather, wide-leg linen… literally whatever you want. Just be mindful of the weather so you don’t end up sweating your ass off. ;))
Blazer Or Jacket
Summer is easily the most popular time to visit a winery, but there’s nothing like a sunset in the country in the fall. Don’t let the cooler weather keep you from missing out on a chance to go wine tasting as the leaves change. An extra layer like a blazer or a denim jacket will ensure you stay comfortable & warm, and have the time of your life. You can wear virtually anything under the blazer, too! We’ve even been known to rock a tank top or crop top underneath our blazers in the cooler months!
Hats
If there is one accessory that stands out among the rest when it comes to wine-tasting outfits, it’s a straw hat. There’s just something about the way a straw sun hat or fedora effortlessly elevates any look, that makes it perfect for a trip to the winery. Oh, and the fact that it helps to keep the sun out of your face. Functionality is important too, we suppose!!

7 American-Made Winery Outfits
Chic Summer Winery Dress Outfit
How STUNNING is this black cutout dress from Lezat clothing? Ugh… this dress is absolutely perfect, and it’s super chic for a day in wine country, isn’t it? Style it with a straw hat and sandals for a look that is perfect for walking around the vineyards.
Casual Wine Country Look
A cotton muscle tee dress makes the perfect casual winery outfit. To keep it casual and comfy, we added a pair of strappy sandals. You could easily swap these sandals for a pair of gladiator sandals. Straps are accessories too, babe!!!
Oh yeah… speaking of accessories. A classic cotton dress is practically made to be worn with big sunglasses and a leather belt bag. A belt bag is PERF for wine tasting because it holds all of your essentials AND keeps you hands-free. Not to mention how comfortable belt bags are! Throw it over your shoulder and you’re good to go!!
Edgy Winery Look
It’s totally fine if you want to wear jeans, but you can easily elevate your look with a pair of sleek black pants. And because you’re everyone’s favorite baddie, you’ll want to wear them with a white faux leather crop top and strappy sandals.
Just don’t be surprised when you see three other people sporting the same look next week. Can you blame them!?
Mini Skirt Winery Outfit
As we mentioned earlier, we’re HUGE fans of black mini skirts. This black front slit mini skirt is gorg, especially styled with a long sleeve crop top. And to make this an ideal cold-weather winery outfit, you can throw on tall black boots for a bit more coverage. Throw a jacket or blazer over your shoulders and you’re ready to go!!
Baddie In A Blazer Outfit
Did someone say blazer!? You had to have known we’d come through with a LEWK with a blazer as its star. This oversized blazer is one of our favs. We LOOOVE how it looks over a long sleeve mesh top. And, in keeping with the baddie vibe, we styled them with a black mini-skirt and classic black boots.
Bold Baddie In White
Choosing to wear white when visiting a winery already makes you a baddie in our book. BOLD move, babe!! We love it!! And what better way to match that bold baddie vibe than with a flawless, strapless white dress from Lucy in the Sky?
TBH, we love this dress for several occasions. It’s perfect if you’re kicking off your bachelorette weekend, but it’s also a FLAWLESS dress for a date with your beau. Pick your poison, babe, and knock ‘em dead. ;))
Spring Winery Outfit
What says spring more than a bright pink matching set!? Okay… maybe florals… BUT if you’re not the “flowery” type, your answer is DEF a bright pink matching set. We adore this set from Show Me Your Mumu. The pants with the matching crop top are such a vibe. We’d wear it literally anywhere.
For a trip to the winery, we styled it with comfy sandals. If you want the whole look, add the Felix Blazer and a straw fedora to really set the tone!!
